Role Overview

Walton Enterprises is seeking a qualified Investment Analyst to join the Walton Investment Team (“WIT”) in Washington, D.C. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a dynamic investment office managing family investments and foundation portfolios. We are looking for individuals who are interested in investments, capital markets, and are comfortable working in a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate will be someone who has completed an investment-related internship or analyst program and/or has at least 0 to 2 years of investment industry experience.

Walton Investment Team is a dynamic and growing team that specializes in managing family investments. Our talented team is located in Bentonville, AR, Washington, DC, and Denver, CO. We work collaboratively to develop, implement, and oversee investment strategies. We are seeking to expand and grow our team with skilled and qualified talent.

 

What you will do

The Analyst, Investments supports senior team members in overseeing research, recommendations and monitoring, portfolio management, asset allocation, investment activities, and reporting to family clients. This role is responsible for analyzing and evaluating investment opportunities across a wide range of asset classes including principally private investments but also hedged strategies as well as long only ones. The position requires both quantitative and qualitative analysis, as well as the ability to clearly articulate and communicate results to various audiences. The analyst also contributes to manager research and due diligence as part of the ongoing monitoring of investment portfolios.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the evaluation and due diligence of investment managers across multiple asset classes
  • Support portfolio management activities, including asset allocation analysis, portfolio construction, implementation, and monitoring
  • Prepare and present investment reports, and performance summaries for internal and client-facing use
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of investment strategies, portfolio exposures, and market conditions
  • Develop and maintain models, tools, and databases to support investment decision-making and risk assessment
  • Coordinate investment transactions, reporting, and reconciliations with operations and accounting teams
  • Contribute to investment policy development and ongoing refinement of processes for monitoring and rebalancing portfolios
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to prepare presentations, analytics, and special project materials
  • Research and synthesize insights on economic and market trends for the investment team
  • Support process improvement initiatives that enhance reporting accuracy and workflow efficiency

Qualifications required for your success

  • Bachelors’ or graduate degree with a record of high academic achievement. Backgrounds may vary; however, candidates must be competent in investment finance concepts and enjoy quantitative as well as investment operations work. While no background in business, finance or accounting is required, typical backgrounds include economics, accounting, finance, business, or STEM.
  • Investment industry or related experience, ideally in roles with significant project leadership and analytical responsibilities where attention to details is essential
  • Strong technical and computing skills, including excellent command of the Microsoft Office’ suite of productivity tools (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) as well as AI tools.
  • Walton Enterprises encourages the pursuit of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and other related professional designations

Benefits Information

 

Compensation Range: $89,000 - $111,000
