Position: Temporary Lawn Maintenance Associate

Department: Property Management

Reporting to: Manager, Maintenance Services

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Bentonville, AR

 

Walton Enterprises is seeking a skilled, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as a Temporary Lawn Maintenance Associate. This role supports property and trail maintenance across a diverse portfolio, ensuring high-quality care and upkeep.

 

About the Position

This is a 6-month assignment, running from April through October. The Temporary Lawn Maintenance Associate will work 40 hours per week and be paid hourly. This role will support property and trail maintenance to ensure that all areas are cared for at the highest standard.

 

What you will do

The position works closely with the Manager, Maintenance Services to perform lawn care, property upkeep, and trail maintenance. Duties include operating equipment, pruning, litter removal, and maintaining outdoor features. The role also supports trail rehabilitation, brush clearing, and drainage repairs.

 

Responsibilities

  • Operate vehicles and powered equipment such as mowers, chain saws, and clippers.
  • Mow, edge, and care for lawns through mulching, aerating, weeding, and trimming.
  • Use hand tools to prune, trim, and maintain trees, shrubs, and hedges.
  • Remove litter and maintain or repair tools, equipment, and property structures.
  • Provide upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, and other grounds features.
  • Perform trail maintenance including brush clearing, drainage repair, and trail rehabilitation.
  • Restore heavily impacted trail sections and inspect bridges and structures.
  • Maintain trail features such as causeways, riprap, rock armor, and cribbing.
  • Ensure accurate records of work performed and maintain safe work practices.
  • Support special assignments as directed by the Manager, Maintenance Services.

Qualifications required for your success

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy workplace environment
  • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Fluent in English

 

Additional Helpful Experience Includes

  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • Must frequently bend, grip, and be flexible to do so
  • Regularly required to stand and walk
  • Strong data entry skills and the ability to maintain accurate records
  • Requires working alone or with minimal supervision – must be self-motivated
  • Requires patience and tact when working with people in emotional or tense situations

The Property Management team assists the family members with all property related activities including acquisition, design, and development. They manage a variety of properties including both personal and commercial real estate, vehicles, equipment, and other property related assets throughout the country. The Property Management team also supports the Walton Family Foundation and Walton Enterprises office buildings.
